FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MUSKEGO, WI – It has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve as the Mayor of the City of Muskego for the past nine years. During my three terms as mayor, with the support of the community, the guidance of several Councils, and the dedication and service of our amazing city employees, Muskego has grown to be a model other cities emulate. I am extremely proud of all the accomplishments we have achieved together, most notably ……the Janesville Rd project that has given life to the business district and pride to the community, a trail system and park amenities many enjoy year round, a needed new public safety building as well as our K9 officers, the City prevailing in Parkland Mall litigation, and implementation of many efficiencies in support of maintaining low taxes as promised. That said, timing is everything, and after much deliberative thought and in consideration of the well-positioned “state” of our great City, I have decided not to seek a 4th Term as Mayor. I will finish my current term in April of next year administering the Council’s budget until that time. In consideration of completing the budget and various other administrative mayoral requirements, it is appropriate at this time that I announce my decision for my successor to begin their deliberative process of choosing to serve the City of Muskego as your next mayor.
My decision to not seek a 4th term was not an easy one to make, but I know it is the right one for me and my family. I am reminded of a wise person, who once held my seat. He told me there is more life after service to enjoy. After 30 plus years of serving the community with the last nine years as the City of Muskego Mayor, I believe the time is right for me to pursue that life. I thank all my supporters over the years, the Council, and the very competent staff.
