This fall's Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Muskego Police Department. Unused medications are a disaster waiting to be found, so it’s vital to safely dispose of unneeded and expired prescriptions. You should never flush or drain your unused prescription medications as there are safe Drug Take Back disposal sites available throughout the State of Wisconsin and all sites, including ours offer confidential disposal. As stated, citizens will be able to drop off their medications at the Muskego Police Department from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Signs will be posted on the property directing drivers where to go. Things we’ll take: prescriptions, over the counter medications, ointments, patches, non-aerosol sprays and inhalers. Items we WILL NOT TAKE: illegal drugs, needles/sharps, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing bodily liquid or blood, I know, but it has to be said), mercury thermometers or personal care products ie. shampoo, soap, lotion, sunscreen, etc., and household hazardous waste such as paint, pesticides, oil, gasoline, or any other acids. Remember, we always have a drug drop off bin inside our front lobby should you be unable to stop by on the 26th. Contact Community Resource Officer Jeff Sartorius by phone, (262) 679-5653, or email, jsartorius@cityofmuskego.org , with any questions you may have. We hope to see you there!
