New Muskego City Hall Ribbon Cutting & Open House

MUSKEGO, WI (July 2018) – The public is invited to attend a Ribbon Cutting & Open House for the new Muskego City Hall (W182 S8200 Racine Avenue) on August 9, 2018 at 4:30 PM. Present will be a Color Guard with members from both the American Legion Post 356 and the VFW Post 8171. Abby Robinson will sing the National Anthem.

“The new city hall is designed for patron use and to make room for the new police facility. All public spaces are conveniently located on one floor including the Council Chamber/Municipal Court”, states Mayor Chiaverotti.

An Open House will follow the Ribbon Cutting until 6:30 PM and refreshments will be provided. There will also be a 2035 Comprehensive Plan Public Workshop from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. This interactive Workshop is an opportunity for you to provide input on the long-range vision of Muskego in regards to transportation, parks and open space, community facilities, housing, areas of opportunity, and plans for business and economic development.  Input from members of the Muskego community, including business owners, is critical to ensure that the City is developed in a manner that will benefit of all residents and stakeholders.

The decision to move forward with the City building projects (which includes a new Police Department) came after years of research, consideration and analysis to develop a plan which was both efficient and cost effective as well as to minimize borrowing so as not to impact taxes. Other determining factors included numerous safety issues, poor working conditions, age of buildings, overall deficiencies, site exploration, and low interest rates. Furthermore, by constructing the two buildings adjacent to each other, this will allow for convenience to residents along with additional cost savings recognized through shared parking areas and more resourceful building maintenance.
