Chief Moser began his career with Muskego PD in 1985 as a patrol officer. He served as an acting detective with the Waukesha County Metro Drug Unit, and as a member of the departments SWAT team, retiring from the team as Team Leader in 2010.
In 1996 he was promoted to Sergeant, and supervised all three patrol shifts at various times. In 2007, he was again promoted, this time to Lieutenant and then Captain of Services, overseeing the detective bureau, school resource and community resource programs, and the civilian clerical staff. During his time supervising the Services Division the department added several very popular community programs, including National Night Out, Shop with a Cop, and Coffee with a Cop.
Appointed as Chief in 2013, one of Chief Moser’s first acts was to begin our very popular K-9 program. He oversaw the upgrade of the department’s Emergency Dispatch Center, and has laid the groundwork for the department to go forward with Body Worn Cameras and the utilization of drone technology.
Everyone at the police department is happy for Chief Moser and his family, and wish them the best as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. We thank him for his dedication, guidance and leadership, but most of all; we thank him for his friendship. We will miss him.
