[ARCHIVED] Reassessment Update

Reassessment notices will be in the mail by the first week in June. Our fieldwork was completed in January 2013. ALL taxpayers will receive an assessment notice as all assessments will be changed to reflect a January 1st, 2013 fair market value. Please note that lowering of assessments does not mean a lowering of taxes. Reduced spending lowers taxes, not lowered assessments

Open book hours will be listed on the assessment notices. There will be a special telephone number to call to set up appointments with assessment staff to discuss the new assessment numbers.

The assessment rolls will be available on-line, at City Hall and the Library during the month of June. Board of Review will be held in the middle of July. Check the reassessment letters to verify the date of the Board of Review.

Booklets on understanding your assessment or how to object to your assessment are available on line at www.dor.state.wi.us/html/govpub.html or at City Hall. All home and land sales for 2012 and earlier are available on the City’s Web site, at City Hall or at the Library. Please make use of these very informative tools.
