The raising of the Alvin Clark is the story of Wisconsin salvage divers embarking on a history-making adventure: the recovery and restoration of a two mast schooner that lay silently in 110-feet of dark frigid water in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The 105-feet schooner sank in a violent storm in 1863 and was raised 105 years later in 1969. Presenter Richard Bennett was one of the original dive team members. After nearly 4000 dives over a two year period, the Clark finally broke the surface and was towed into Marinette Menominee where she was pumped out and cleaned. The presentation covers the history of the Clark, her demise, her discovery, the salvage techniques and the final chapter of the Clark. The presentation is approximately 35 to 40 minutes long with a question and answer period following.
